So the story goes that in 1989, Dinosaur Jr recorded “Lotta Love” for a Neil Young tribute record called “The Bridge: A Tribute to Neil Young.” The album also features The Pixies, The Flaming Lips, and Sonic Youth, among others. Apparently, they also recorded a second song, and then forgot/lost it for 22 years, until the band found it and put it online.

I like this cover way more than the “Lotta Love” track that ended up on the tribute album. I know it’s rough, noisy, and not that well played, but that’s what makes it great.
