This one snuck up on me. I’ve liked previous Locrian releases (especially the Mamiffer collaboration), but I sort of forgot about the band. But I kept seeing that cube album cover and finally gave it a listen. It grabbed me right away. New Catastrophism is one of my favorite releases of 2022.

Mamiffer & Locrian – Corpus Luteum

I can not stop listening to this album.

Mamiffer is Aaron Turner of Isis, House of Low Culture, and a million other bands, and Faith Coloccia, formerly of Everlovely Lightningheart. Their releases in the past have been pretty hit or miss for me, with more being “eh, I don’t care” than “this is amazing.”

I know absolutely nothing about Locrian, but I’m probably going to fix that issue.

Go buy it, it’s stupid expensive, but amazing.
