When The River Bed originally came out, I thought it was their sort of lame “soft” record. But now compared the 2011 reunion album, Fell & Found, this thing seems like death metal.
God, Fell & Found is bad.

I’ve gone back and forth all month about whether or not I should post The Casket Lottery’s cover of “In The Meantime” or something else. I really love their version of the song, but with Sean Ingram singing, it just doesn’t feel like a Casket Lottery song. Best Man, on the other hand, sounds like the band could have originally written it.
There is a line in the song Stay Positive by the Hold Steady that goes “There’s gonna come a time when the true scene leaders forget where they differ and get big picture ‘cause the kids at the shows, they’ll have kids of their own and the sing-along songs will be our scriptures.”
I’m old enough that this is happening now.
In light of that, I’m going to spend the rest of the year highlighting our scriptures.

I know this was a HUGE hit for Oasis, but this cover is so perfect that, at least for me, it has completely crushed the original out of existence.
This band never did that much for me, but in my current flu state, it's really doing it for me.
Constantines - Insectivora
I forget on a pretty regular basis how great this band was.
The show they played at Mac’s Bar in Lansing in 2004 is in my top 10 funnest shows.
It bums me out more than I can explain that I never got to see this band live.
