Friday, 9:40 at The Laboratory.

At first, I really loved this band’s demo, but over time, it just seemed like every song had a 2-minute intro, and I don’t have the patience for that nonsense. Then I heard the ep that came out after that, and wrote it off completely. The demo was better. But after listening to it again (and doing so less intensely), I like it. It's not a masterpiece, but it's good and I think they'd be fun to see live.

God this is good. Why aren’t more people listening to this band?

Until Kid Dynamite and the Sleepy Time Trio were announced, Iron Chic was without question the band I most wanted to see. 

Not Like This is hands down my favorite release of 2010.

7:30 at 8 Seconds. I’ve never seen this band live, but I wouldn’t have guessed they would have had a draw big enough for that venue. Hm.

Tigers Jaw is, to me at least, an early 2000’s emo/pop-punk throwback band. And I mean that in as nice a way as I can.

And yes, I’d skip Samiam to see these guys.

I never cared that much about this band. I even had an album on my computer that I had no memory of. Any time I ran across it I never remembered anything about it. 

Topshelf, a label that is currently killing it, is releasing the band’s first full-length and has a track from it on their website. I loved it.

I went back and gave their older material a real chance, and turns out I love that too. 

You can get three of the band’s four eps for free on their Bandcamp page. Real physical copies of those releases, as well as the new one, can be purchased at the Topshelf website, and a bunch of other great stuff.

I’m not really that into this band, but it's 1 pm and it's an acoustic set, so screw it. Let's go see the band putting out the best Against Me records today.

Two “Jack the Rippers” in a row is probably ill-advised, despite being two totally different songs. 

This thing slays. Go buy the record its on (iTunes or on vinyl), and then buy their full-length album and go see them. The live show is amazing.

I can not say enough how much I love this song and band.
