DEFEAT / REPEAT BY OUTRIGHT
This is sort of just by the numbers hardcore with a female singer, but it rips. Holler, the ep that this song and three others are from was one of my favorite releases of 2018.

That slow pretty ambient drone.
Made entirely with a electric guitar, and a Juno 2.
Moody noise rock or the slow parts of Young Widows songs turned up and cut off before they get repetitive.
Their new album Place Noire just came out and is definitely worth your time.
The album is called “Schmaltz,” and dear lord is it, but I love it.
One of my favorite albums of 2018.
This song has been stuck in my head for the last 4 months.
I should hate everything about this. Growled hardcore with double base and predicable mosh parts preformed by a bunch of muscled and tattooed hardcore jocks. Look at this asshole. The picture up there is the only one I could find with the singer wearing a shirt. Ugh. I bet there are so many spin kicks at their shows.
Trash.
But its doing it for me right now.
I hate myself.
A friend described the album this song is from (Millennials) as “Heavy, frantic. Recorded live to tape. Inaccessible.” To which I replied, “you had me at inaccessible.”
Considering some of the nonesense I listen (I once described an album as sounding exactly like my infant son’s fire truck toy, and still bought it) I really expected something different than what I herard when I checked out the full album stream at Metal Injectio.
I wouldn’t call it inaccessible or at least not in the way I expected. Frantic sure, but its not some 22 minute noise/drone track with someone banging on a metal radiator with an old shoe that is more college art project than music.
Millennials is pretty firmly rooted in hardcore, the noisier side of things for sure, but still hardcore.
