TAG: JOHNNY CASH

So covers month is over. I posted a cover a day for the entire month. But I’ve posted covers before, including at least two I nearly posted again and one I accidentally did (and then deleted).

Here are the other covers I’ve posted.

Frank Turner - Thunder Road (Originally by Bruce Springsteen)

Crooked Fingers - When You Were Mine (Originally by Prince)

Lilly Allen/Mark Ronson - Oh My God (Originally by Kaiser Chiefs)

Johnny Cash - Hurt (Originally by Nine Inch Nails)

The Gaslight Anthem - Once Upon A Time (Originally byRobert Bradley’s Blackwater Surprise)

The White Stripes - Jolene (Originally by Dolly Parton)

All posts in the month of August will be covers.

Yes, “Hurt” is a better song and “Rusty Cage” is sillier, but “Solitary Man” is pretty damn great. I actually have spent a fair amount of time this month trying to pick the right Cash cover to post. The American albums are full of covers, many of them good, but not that many really stick with me. "Solitary Man,“ "Hurt,” and “One” do.
