JAZZ HANDS

This website posted a chart showing the rappers with the most extensive vocabulary, and Aesop Rock won by nearly a thousand words more than his nearest competitor (GZA).

But with that big vocabulary, sometimes Aesop’s verses sound like a cool word salad. I’m here for it, but it doesn’t always make sense.

WOLF DIX RD.

New record from what is easily one of my favorite bands of the last few years.

Sad songs about being a fuck-up, feeling like you’re wasting your life, missing people and not giving up, sung like this is the last chance you’ll ever get.

Unfuckwithable.

TO SHREDS, YOU SAY?

Scream along if you know the words:

“I was playing with matchesNow I sift through the ashesIt’s cold nowThe fire’s outI might never be warm againAnd the rain comes to wash it downWorse to burn than it is to drownLet the cool waterFill my lungsAnd I won’t have to breathe again“

Like I said with the last Iron Chic post, Sad songs about being a fuck-up, feeling like you’re wasting your life, missing people (this album is pretty heavy on missing people) and not giving up, sung like this is the last chance you’ll ever get.

Iron Chic is hands down my favorite band. I can’t say enough good things about them.

I’m in love with the piano in this song, and I’m not above listening to it 5 or 6 times in a row.
