YØU CAN’T KILL US BY HIRS
This is the first sentence of the NPR article that goes along with a fullstream of Hirs fantastic new album “Friends.Lovers.Favorites”; “The HIRS Collective has a unified purpose: to defend, examine and extol the survival of trans and queer outcasts.”
Fuck yeah
Besides being amazing and actually having something to say, they never stop working. They have a ton of releases, including 2 collection records called “The First 100 Songs,” and “The second 100 Songs.”

WHO'S YOUR PARTNER BY THE MENZINGERS
All posts in October will be from bands playing Fest 10 in Gainesville, Florida. Everything will be posted in the order that they are playing.
Saturday, 1pm at Loosey’s.
I’m not really that into this band, but it's 1 pm and it's an acoustic set, so screw it. Let's go see the band putting out the best Against Me records today.
TROY'S BUCKET BY KID DYNAMITE
All posts in October will be from bands playing Fest 10 in Gainesville, Florida. Everything will be posted in the order that they are playing.
Friday, 8:45 at The Florida Theater of Gainesville.
This is posted out of order because Lifetime, a band everyone loves, but I couldn’t give a shit about, had to drop off Fest due to babies. But still wanting to play, members of Lifetime remembered they had this other band that the kids are into, and now Kid Dynamite is playing.
There are no other bands that even come close to how badly I want to see this band. Sorry, Great Explainer and Touche Amore, you lose.
GOING TO GEORGIA BY ATOM AND HIS PACKAGE
All posts in the month of August will be covers.
Originally by The Mountain Goats
Hearing Atom play this at Michigan Fest in 2002 was actually the first time I had ever even heard of the Mountain Goats. And despite Atom’s performance, I didn’t investigate the band any further for like 5 years.
Somehow, despite sounding completely Atom & His Package, this still seems like a Mountain Goats song.
PUMPING FOR ENYA BY ATOM AND HIS PACKAGE
During the summer of '98, I burned this song into my brain forever.
