TAG: BIRTHDAY

Talk about a sophomore slump. 93 posts for the year and only 10 in 2012.

Hopefully, for year three, I can get my act together.

Some stats:

66 followers. Which is more than double year one, but still not many. I should probably post more Snowing, Tumblr loves that shit (221 notes).

Covers month was the most popular month of the year, accounting for four of the top five posts (note-wise) posted in the last year.

1. Ryan Adams - Wonderwall (135) cover2. MixTapes -  Nothing Can Kill The Grimace (79)3. Deftones - Simple Man (35) Cover 4. The Gaslight Anthem - I Do Not Hook Up (30) cover5. Johnny Cash - Solitary Man (30) cover

So, Tumblr loves covers by big popular bands and pop punk.

Goals for year three:

• 1. At least 100 posts. 2. Figure out how to make the new theme more of what I want. 3. Actually finish this year’s Fest posts. 4. Follow through on at least one of the above goals.

Sleeping Village is a year old today. In that year:

I changed the site name from Jackass Operation to Sleeping Village.

There were 227 posts, well short of a song a day.

It only has 30 Tumblr followers.

The two most reblogged posts were, Botch “To Our Friends In The Great White North” (89) and Snowing “So I Shotgunned A Beer And Went Back To Bed” (69). The Snowing one just came out of no where. Like a month after it was posted it just blew up. It’ll probably be in the 70s by the end of this week.

Seven bands had more than one song posted; Small Brown Bike, Bruce Springsteen, Isis, Suicide Machines, Frank Turner, Coalesce and The Gaslight Anthem.

No band had more than two songs posted.

Things I’ve learned about Tumblr:

• Yes, it is down again.
• People only like animated gifs.
• Nearly everyone on Tumblr is 17 and thinks loud, shitty tiled backgrounds are awesome.
• Tumblr search sucks.
• Honestly, it sucks really bad, how can you not find the post I just made?
• Having a backup Posterous account is a must .
